The Fleming County Hospital kicked off “I Stop for Lights and Alarms” Quality Improvement Project. All departments were educated on this project and received a button that says “I stop for lights and alarms”.

When an employee is in patient care areas, if a light is seen going off or an alarm (IV or fall) is heard and the staff member is within five feet of the room the staff will respond. If staff is unable to assist the patient themselves, they will find the appropriate staff member to assist the patient.

The purpose of the project is to decrease the number of falls and improve patient satisfaction.
