 The Medical-Surgical unit consists of two wings, South & West Wing located on the 2nd floor of our hospital. Many of our rooms are spacious, private rooms which affords the patient privacy for themselves and their families. There is an in-house capacity for 48 medical surgical beds. Patient population consist of pediatric through geriatric age groups, with diagnosis ranging from simple to complex. Within the unit are ten swing beds. These beds are utilized for transition from acute care to long term or home care. There are two private Hospice suites, which allow privacy and a feeling of home for families and their loved ones.
Staffing is conducted utilizing an acuity-based staffing matrix system. The staff mix consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants and Unit Secretaries. Specialty areas require our staff to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. All staff members are certified in Basic Life Support.
