A Memorial Tribute to a Friend, Co-Worker
To my mentor, boss, friend, counselor, and biggest
cheerleader: You are a large part of where I am
today. Your words of encouragement for me to go to
anesthesia school got me motivated to do whatever it
took to get me in and out of a grueling program.
When I was finishing up school you were the one hounding the power that be at Fleming County Hospital to give me a job and not let me go. You cheered me on from the beginning until success and I was blessed to get to be your partner at Fleming County Hospital! It amazed me how rowdy you could be with others when you didn’t agree with something, but you and I always agreed to disagree and you called me the boss (even though we really knew who the boss was). Your constant compliments of being a good anesthetist and the pretty anesthetist always brightened my day. I miss those already!
Times are tough for me right now and you were here to listen and not judge me. We laughed and cried about my life’s shenanigans. Now I’m left with big decisions and need guidance to get me thru. You left big shoes to fill and I’ve got a lot to think about. I know my cheerleader is on top of the pyramid now with hands held high and will shout out and point me in the right direction whenever I need you too. Bret you will always be with me in practice and in life!
Love, Holly
PS: It’s too quite in the OR these days!
